Benefit transfer of climate change adaptation policies in island tourist destinations

Benefit transfer is a non-market valuation method that offers quick and cost effective alternative to costly methods for assessing the economic value of environmental goods policies in tourism. This paper assesses validity benefits adapt climate change impacts across tourist destinations. To do so, discrete choice experiment designed conducted simultaneously seven island destinations with similar sociological characteristics. The results show some adaptation are more valued than others by tourists, attract higher preferences actions. tests give significant support destinations, thereby providing an assessment tourism, as worldwide information about costs involved tourism policy decision making become increasingly available.
